The Story

A practice built around trial preparation

Joseph Younes represents individuals and families in the most serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. His practice centers on catastrophic injury matters: traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, commercial vehicle collisions, construction site accidents, and premises liability. These are cases that require specialized advocacy from the day a claim is opened.

That advocacy is built on a record of taking cases as far as necessary to secure the right outcome. In under seven years, Joseph has recovered over $200 million for his clients, including dozens of seven-figure outcomes and several eight-figure recoveries: a $25 million wrongful death settlement, a $10.45 million spinal injury settlement, and a unanimous $5.8 million jury verdict in U.S. federal court.

Effective litigation means being fully prepared to try a case well before the question of settlement arises. Joseph is a graduate of CAALA’s Plaintiff’s Trial Academy and the American Board of Trial Advocates’ Jack Daniels Trial Academy, two of the more selective trial advocacy programs in the country. He has been recognized as a National Trial Lawyer Top 40 Under 40, named to the Top 100 Jury Verdicts of California in 2024 and 2025, and selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year since 2022.

Insurance carriers typically approach cases differently when they recognize an attorney who is prepared to take a case to verdict rather than settle quickly. That distinction has shaped outcomes for Joseph’s clients throughout his practice.

The Approach

Prepared for trial. Not posturing for it.

Most personal injury cases never reach a courtroom. Many plaintiff’s lawyers run a settlement-focused practice: sign clients, develop a demand, negotiate, and take a fee. It’s a common approach, and one that insurance carriers are familiar with.

This practice is structured differently. Every case is prepared from the outset on the assumption that it may go to trial. Discovery is comprehensive, and experts are retained early. By the time settlement discussions begin, the case file is typically complete.

Three operating principles.
01
Strategy
Trial-first case strategy.

Every case is prepared as though it may be tried. Discovery, experts, and trial themes are developed starting with the first intake call, not after settlement talks stall.

02
Focus
Specialized practice focus.

The practice takes on catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters: traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, commercial vehicle collisions, construction accidents, and premises liability. Taking on fewer cases allows for more preparation on each.

03
Access
Direct client representation.

Clients work directly with Joseph. There’s no intake desk or associate handoff. The attorney handling the case is the same one who answers the first call.
